PERSONAL ARTIFACTS
I have always instinctively treasured objects passed down to me from my relatives, cherishing this intimate bond to my past and linking me to a former era that feels more like “me” than our current world. Simultaneously I have taken great joy throughout my life discovering objects in nature, reminding me of where I’ve been and of a magical relationship I have with the natural world. All together, they have become my inheritance.
As a woman without children, all of these items bear an even greater significance to me. With no descendants of my own to pass them down to, who will care about these objects after I am gone? Even more poignant becomes the question, who will remember I even existed? Thus, I am pulled to immortalize these Personal Artifacts by recording their precious, fleeting existence and therefore my own.
